In the latest twist in the world of Social Media, it has been widely reported today that sites such as Twitter and Facebook have paved the way for the identities of celebrities protected by injunctions to be revealed.
Reports suggest that Twitter users have been circulating the names of footballers and other celebrities alleged to have taken out the gagging order.
Matt Skeggs, Director at E Marketing Support commented:
“It’s interesting to see yet another way people are using Social Media sites such as Twitter, in everyday life. Social media continues to change the way news reaches people, by making information available almost instantly both directly from the source and via the online version of ‘word of mouth’. Members of the public, businesses and the press are sharing information, advertising, reporting news and developing interest in a completely new way.”
